John Kail is the owner/managing partner of The Law Office of John D.Kail, LLC. Through over 20 years of practical legal experience in the courtroom, his reputation is well known throughout Missouri for the depth and breadth of experience and knowledge he has accumulated while representing thousands of clients in addressing the numerous complex issues related to criminal defense and DWI litigation, felony and misdemeanor cases, traffic law and driver licensing.

He has also received specialized training on DWI Detection and the administration of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests—the same training that all Missouri law enforcement officers receive which has been extraordinarily helpful in defending clients accused of DWI/DUI—all so that he may better successfully defend and serve his many clients.

Due to this training, experience and reputation, John has been asked on numerous occasions to train police officers on how to better perform their duties, particularly when it comes to DWI/DUI cases. He has been also nationally recognized three times (2015-2017) by The National Trial Lawyers as one of the United States Top 100 Trial Attorneys and was again honored in 2015 with Missouri’s 10 Best Client Satisfaction Award by the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys.

John knows that many people come to him in their time of greatest need. He understands that being an attorney is not just about the case…it is about taking the time to listen, to care and to help in every way possible. John is a 1998 graduate of University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law and a 1995 graduate with honors from Missouri State University. He is a native of Springfield, Missouri who has lived in Missouri for his entire life. He is a seventh-generation Missourian whose family has resided in southwest Missouri for over 150 years and he is proud to call this area home.

In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons, reading, participating in church activities and watching the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and Missouri Tigers.
